IDENTIFICATION, REGISTRATION, ADMINISTRATION AND BROKERING OF VERIFIED CARBON CREDITS FROM SOUTH AFRICAN COMMERCIAL TIMBERLAND

Welcome

The South African industrial timberland sector has over 100 years of dedicated sector innovation and manages over 45 Billion rand, in world class timberland assets. The sector is made up of circa 1.2 million commercially planted hectares, and is positioned as a well organized, predominantly export driven, deep market sector with mature supply chains, which allows for optionality in diversified revenue streams. The South African Forestry / Timberland sector contributes circa 1% to South Africa’s GDP and employs circa 150 000 people.

South Africa’s commercial timberlands sequest millions of tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂) from the atmosphere, mitigating Green House Gas (GHG) emissions.  To unlock and legally convert this sequestration potential into tradable verified carbon units (VCU) inline with the Kyoto Protocol, Paris Agreement and COP’s,

CBG has partnered with VERRA a leading organization that operates standards in environmental and social markets, including housing the world’s leading carbon crediting program. VERRA sets the world’s leading standards for climate action and sustainable development.

Introducing Carbon Brokerage Group (CBG)

Carbon Brokerage Group (CBG) is positioned as a “project developer”, “project proponent” or implementing agent” in the identification and execution of carbon credit projects,  specifically for South Africa’s Commercial Timberland Sector. CBG further offers a brokerage service, trading their Clients VCU’s to CBG’s network of Buyers, thereby closing the commercial circle with “tangible upside products and services” for their Clients.
